Kristin Reed, DDS
I have been practicing in Irmo, SC since 2009, but dentistry has always been a part of my life. My dad is a dentist and my mom, a dental hygienist. I enjoyed working in my dad’s dental practice and assisting him with emergency patients on weekends. It was fascinating to see what a difference he made in their lives and how thankful his patients were to be out of pain. Now as a dentist myself, I find it extremely rewarding to work with patients, especially those with dental anxiety, developing an atmosphere of trust and genuine concern, and show them that coming to the dentist can be a pleasant and pain free experience.
My practice philosophy is to provide the highest quality dentistry available for the entire family in a professional, caring, and comfortable environment. I am devoted to establishing new and long-term relationships in order to help my patients achieve the highest level of dental health through personalized treatment, education, and preventive care. As a leader I am committed to providing a work environment that supports the needs of my team as we continue to strive for excellence together. Ultimately, I am committed to enhancing the lives of my patients through genuine friendships and superior quality dentistry.

Outside the Office
I am originally from Seymour, TN, and currently reside in Columbia with my husband, Paul, a PhD candidate in the Linguistics Program at the University of South Carolina. He is currently working on his dissertation researching language variation of the Appalachian region. We have a miniature Dachshund, Jackson to keep us company at home. I love to travel and spend time outdoors, especially if I’m water skiing, exercising, or running. I even recently completed the Rock and Roll San Diego Half Marathon! My husband and I are also active members at Shandon Baptist Church where we love working with young married couples.
I enjoy giving back to the local community. I participated in SC Mission 2011, which provided free medical, dental, and vision care to hundreds of people in the Midlands. This event addressed immediate medical needs as well as connected underserved patients to a medical and dental home. I have also participated in serving lunch to the needy at Christ Central Ministries.
